Holley by the Sea Wedding
There is nothing more beautiful than a wedding overlooking the emerald waters of the Gulf. Ashley and Chris’s Holley by the Sea wedding was nothing short of amazing! Their black and white color scheme with pops of red gave the overall wedding a simply classic feel. But don’t think these two were all elegance and no fun…..Ashley’s quirky personality shone through with her white wedding dress with black chiffon underlay and a purple batman garter! Throughout the evening, photojournalist friends, Tom Charlton and Brittain Crolley, were able to capture the emotional speeches, incredible dance moves, and the beginning of a very special marriage.
Their Love Story
We met while training to be Air Force photojournalists at Fort George G. Meade in Maryland. The first time we met was before an early morning formation. I walked up to Chris and said “You look like an owl” (referring to his sleepy eyes), making him laugh. Since laughing doesn’t happen often at basic training, he decided to keep me around. Chris was then stationed at Shaw Air Force Base, SC, and I was stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, NC. Even though we live 3 hours apart, we kept in contact, started driving to see each other every weekend, and fell in love! Chris proposed to me in a beautiful park!
Ashley and Chris presented their mothers with a long-stem rose during ceremony. Ashley’s parents did this for their mothers at their wedding.
How to Avoid Wedding Stress
As active duty airmen, Ashley and Chris had to make sure they both had enough leave accumulated for their out-of-state wedding. Both Ashley and Chris could not do a site visit or many vendor meetings. FDL spent time on the phone with Ashley, making sure all the details were handled and met with Ashley’s mother to work out the wedding day flow and coordination. FDL also contacted vendors and made sure they were up to date on the wedding timeline and any changes that needed to be made.
