Rustic Museum of Commerce Wedding
Jennifer and Justin’s rustic Museum of Commerce wedding is a beautiful example of what a rustic wedding can be. A little bit of rustic, some sentimental details, and full creativity made this wedding all that it is – perfection! Prepare yourself for some sheer beauty ahead. Their Love Story
We met in a bar in downtown Pensacola (how classy, right?!?), two weeks before I was supposed to take the bar exam. I got dragged out (really needed a study break!) by my best friend and Justin was just new to the area. I tried to buy him a beer and he declined….how rude! However, we talked throughout the night and exchanged numbers. He took me to dinner a few days later but then I went to Jacksonville to finish studying for the bar and then to Tampa to take the exam. We didn’t see each other for almost three weeks, but started hanging out when I got back in town. We started dating and fell in love! Two years later, Justin flew me to Charlotte while he had a trip (he is an airline pilot). We spent the weekend in Charlotte and explored different things and then he flew the flight back from Charlotte to Pensacola. I was a passenger while he was flying the plane (scary!) and when we landed in Pensacola, we stopped short of the gate. The next thing I know, he is coming out of the cockpit, walked to my seat, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him in front of 50+ passengers! I said yes and we began planning our life together! We love a lot about one another! I love his sense of humor, his down-to-Earth personality, his laid back attitude, and his ability to make me smile.
The Theme and Color Scheme
Jennifer came up with the theme and color scheme. Justin is from South Carolina and Jennifer is from Florida, so they both wanted a southern theme with rustic elements but hints of gold.
Jennifer’s bouquet will have pins and earrings of her grandmother’s and great-grandmother’s, along with her sorority pin. Jennifer’s great-grandmother’s punch recipe and cheese straw recipe was used for the reception.
Changing Your Name Checklist
Wedding planning tips for future couples?
Let each have certain things they want in the wedding, whether it be colors, specific songs, or a specific food item. Although a lot of men aren’t too concerned about a lot of the planning, giving them what they want (within reason!) in the reception or ceremony is important. Also, men…..when your bride gives you a task with a deadline, LISTEN!
Avoid the Stress
Planning small details is something that is overlooked but takes up so much time! It was easy to pick where, when, and what theme. But the small details like programs, linens, favors, etc becomes a lot!
