Are you thinking of having a destination wedding in Florida? Has an outdoor wedding always been your dream? Well, before you decide to have an August mid day beach wedding in Florida, consider the type of weather you’ve envisioned for your special day- your guests will thank you! According to The Knot, the most popular wedding months in the U.S are June and September. Although September is a wonderful month to get married here in Florida, June is not. Even if you’re planning on having an indoor ceremony and indoor reception it’s important to keep in mind any outdoor activities you would like your guests to enjoy while they’re in town for your wedding. Florida has cold winters- maybe not cold enough for snow but cold enough where you’d want to wear a heavy coat- and in the summer we have 100% humidity and afternoon thunderstorms. If you’re a destination bride seeking an outdoor wedding, be sure to reflect on how weather will play a part. This article was featured on Occasions.
Most desirable wedding months. Florida has two wedding seasons, fall and spring. These are the best month to get married if you’re thinking of having an outdoor wedding. However, March, April, September, October and November are very desirable months and sometimes it can be hard finding an available venue. If these months appeal to you, make sure to plan ahead and reserve your vendors early.
Cautionary months. June, July and August are hot months here in Florida but August is the worst possible month for an outdoor wedding. If you have decided to have an outdoor wedding in August, there’s a pretty good chance your guests will melt into a sweaty sticky puddle by the end of the ceremony. If you have your sights set on a June or July wedding, consider an early evening ceremony- it will have cooled off a bit by then.
